Glossary

Hello everyone!
Here is the glossary.

Binary Stars: Two stars revolving around a common centre of gravity. Also called Double Stars.

Cosmic Radiation: The cooled remnant of the hot big bang that fills the entire universe and can be observed today with an average temperature of about 2.725 Kelvin or -270º
C.

Density: How tightly or loosely packed a substance is, or the number or people or things in a certain area.

Electromagnetic: The interaction of electronic currents or fields and magnetic fields.

Electromagnetic Spectrum: The complete range of frequencies of electromagnetic waves from lowest to highest.

Exoplanets: A planet that orbits a star other than the sun.

Geometric: something associated with geometry, or the use of straight lines and shapes.

Gravity: The force that causes everything that goes up to fall back down to Earth.

Infinite: endless or limitless.

Interstellar Medium: The material between stars. E.g. gas, dust, radiation.

Magnetic Field: A region around a magnetic material or a moving electrical charge within which the force of magnetism acts.

Magnitude: The degree of brightness of a star or other celestial body.

Massive: Has a lot of mass (not necessarily large in size).

Matter: Something that has mass. Mass is not the same as weight.

Nebula: Cloud of gas and dust in outer space.

Nuclear Fusion: When two or more light weight atoms join together to form one heavier nucleus, with any energy released due to the conversion being converted into nuclear energy.

Observing: To examine and study scientifically.

Parallax:
An object appearing as if it is positioned differently when it is looked at from different angles or different positions.

Quantum Physics: The branch of science that uses a complex theory to describe and predict the properties of a physical system.

Space Time: A four-dimensional continuum with four coordinates, the three dimensions of space and the fourth dimension, time, in which any event can be located. It is also called the Space-Time Continuum.

Spectrometers: A device for measuring the frequencies of the radiation.

Supermassive: Having a mass in the range of millions or billions of times that of the sun.
